Cea de-a 74-a ediție a Primetime Emmy Awards, ediția 2022 va avea loc pe 12 septembrie, locația nefiind dezvăluită încă. Ceremonia va fi transmisă live de televiziunea NBC și prin intermediul platformei Peacock.
Liderul detașat cu cele mai multe nominalizări la ediția anului 2022 este drama HBO Succession, cu 25 de nominalizări (inclusiv categoriile tehnice). Podiumul este completat de comedia Ted Lasso (Apple TV+) și miniseria The White Lotus (HBO), cu câte 20 de nominalizări fiecare, iar imediat în clasament urmează comediile Hacks (HBO Max) și Only Murders in the Building (Hulu/Disney+), cu câte 17 nominalizări fiecare, respectiv Euphoria (HBO), cu 16 nominalizări. Noutatea din acest an este că durata unui episod nu mai determină categoria (dramă sau comedie) în care poate fi încadrat un serial, Academia lăsând la latitudinea producătorilor această decizie, atât timp cât un episod atinge pragul de 20 de minute.
